It’s Husband Takeover. Happy Birthday, to my wife!!
Hey guys it’s Andrew! Alexandra’s birthday was last week and I surprised her with this blog post (she cried, so I think I did alright?) 🙂
27 is a good age! I got married at 27, we bought a house, and I even got the news that I was going to be a Dad (well I just turned 28 but you get it!). Lot’s of life-long memories. This year, Alexandra is turning 27 and I couldn’t be more excited! When I tell you there’s a lot in store for her, that’s an understatement. Few people have the same level of determination as Alexandra, and she will absolutely accomplish anything she sets her mind to.
I know Alexandra better than anyone, and I love it! Whenever she does one of her unique things, I’ll always joke with her saying, “All the things that I know, that no one else knows. That’s the best part of marriage!” Today, I’m going to share a piece of my heart and one of those things that makes Alexandra unique.
Before I do that, I want to give a shout out to one of our favorites and today’s sponsor, Snap Kitchen. We used Snap Kitchen when we did Whole30 and now we order it all the time! Without them, we would have a lot less time to spend together as a family.
The thing is, Alexandra and I both have full-time jobs, and Ava! And although fashion blogging looks easy, fun, and always glamorous, it’s not. It is hard work to say the least! And Alexandra is literally working from 6 am to 10 pm, pretty much every day. Although she loves it, it’s not always sunshine and rainbows. Trust me, it’s taken me 2 weeks to finish this post… Walking 1/2 a mile in her shoes has given me an entirely new respect for what she does every day.
You probably don’t know this, but having dinner as a family is extremely important to Alexandra. This isn’t up for debate, it will happen every night with no questions asked. I really love that about Alexandra, there are some things she will not budge on. Every night we turn off the TV, put our phones away, and spend time talking with each other. It doesn’t matter if it’s midnight (which has happened many times), we will sit down together, have dinner, and enjoy time with each other. This means so much to Alexandra and it’s something I’ve come to enjoy as well. Sometimes, it feels like this is the only time we get together all day.
This is a BIG reason why we get our meal plans from Snap Kitchen because it’s so convenient, plus it’s good for you. All of their meals are gluten-free, fresh (never frozen), and made with no preservatives.
That’s something Alexandra has taught me, the true value of time. I am extremely blessed to call her my wife and teammate forever. Things change, trends come and go, but I know I can always count on her. Alexandra never quits, she never gives up, and she elevates everyone around her. She’s truly an amazing person, and I’m a fan of anything that can give me more time with her.
With that said, every year I run into the same dilemma. What gift do I get her? It’s not that Alexandra has everything, but if she wants something she works hard to get it for herself. So then my options are limited lol.
I’ll be honest, I typically just look at her computer while she’s surfing the web, wait for something expensive to pop up, then buy it. The whole process takes about 20 minutes. However, this year, I decided to go in a different direction.
This year, I’m writing a guest blog post to save her a little time this week. And to also get a better understanding of her day-to-day, which is no joke! I also got her some fun gifts and a July 4th outfit. We’ll see if she likes it! And more importantly, I got her a few things that should help save some time moving forward.
Because I can guarantee you 2 things:
- Alexandra loves what she does.
- she will not stop until everything on her checklist is done!
So if I can help get that list done faster, that means I get a little extra time with the girl of my dreams.
I’m happy to say there are a lot of resources that help us become more efficient and I recommend everyone evaluate how their time is being spent! Who knows, maybe you’ll enjoy having dinner together just like us.
