Kitchen + Living Room Magazine Feature

I’ve actually been hesitant to publish this post because I don’t at all mean for this post to come across as, “Look at me! I’m in a magazine!” Because not at all, you guys! To me, this represents what can happen if you allow yourself to be yourself, trust your gut, and not care what anyone has to say about it! 😉

I mean we remodeled a house under the concept that pink is a neutral (Crazy! Who does that?!) and then it ended up on the cover of a magazine?!

Okay I’ll start from the beginning…

Most of you already know this, but in June of 2019 my dad passed away from cancer. So Andrew, Ava and I moved into what was my parents house so we could be with my mom. We all wanted to be together and there was NO WAY I would let her live alone. I mean, she’s my mom! She was my first love, lol!

Anyway, we all knew that living there was temporary because that house just never felt like home. So about a year ago we started looking for a new place that all of us could call home. A fresh start.

The House

So we house HUNTED. Seriously, it felt like we looked everywhere before we found the right house! Although, the first time we toured our house I would’t exactly call it “love at first sight” lol. We walked in and we were all like “no this is going to take too much work.. although great vibes!“. But after much thought and prayer, it just felt right! So we decided to go for it.

The Design

SO MUCH went into this. So much time and so many amazing people! But overall, I wanted this space to reflect my personal style! Disclaimer: I did get lucky with a husband who couldn’t care less about a kitchen backsplash, let alone the color of a chair. Ha!

In short, we made decisions based off of what what we LOVED (instead of simply what was “trending” at that time) and I would encourage anyone to do the same. I wake up every morning and LOVE it because this whole room just feels so good, and so right for us!
