I can say with confidence that I don’t need any more makeup for at least two years. But, as soon as a new lipstick comes around in shades of pink and nude-ish colors-I’m giving in to temptation every time! The other day I made my usual Target-essential run and decided to swing by the cosmetic aisle since I had a few extra minutes. I couldn’t help but notice the new PYT beauty display- so pretty and impossible to ignore!
The collection includes everything from bronzer duos, gorgeous eyeshadow palettes, liquid eyeliner, and everything in between! I decided to grab a few of the lip products and share my thoughts for all my fellow Target lovers!
Before we get to the details and swatches- I feel like I should let you know that I am very picky when it comes to these things because I refuse to purchase anything just because it is “affordable”. Even if something can seem convenient at first glance and save me a few dollars, I ask myself whether this purchase is really worth my time. Will I re-apply what ever it was over so many times because the product doesn’t last? Am I re-applying it so much that before long another tube will be on my shopping list?
But when you’re at Target and you just happen to stumble upon a product that you (regardless of the price) you can’t help but feel like you are WINNING.
Let’s get to the products + shades!
friends with benefits lip duo
The first product that caught my eye was the Friends With Benefits Lip Duo, a 2-for-1 product with a liquid lip on one end and a gloss on the other. In the photo above the shade “Icon” is swatched and it’s a perfect cool-toned pinky-nude. But here’s what I love about it:
- Both the lipstick and the gloss are highly pigmented. I can wear them separately or layer the two, and either way I love it.
- Smooth formula (zero-stickyness)
- Made with Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter, Grape Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil and Vitamin E which makes it SUPER hydrating!
plump it up lip gloss
Next up , the plump it up lip gloss. I don’t usually love “plumping” glosses because I never like the way they feel- but this one is amazing.
- Contains hyaluronic acid, which allow it to literally penetrates the lips to deliver intense hydration, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Made with peppermint oil, which gives you that minty feel with NO stining
- Completely clear so you can layer it on top of any lip product and it will give you all these benefits- without changing the color!
so extra tinted lip balm
Speaking of layering, I actually love to wear this with their lip balm! This balm is extra-tinted with a sheer finish. If you wear it alone it allows your natural lip color to come through so it’s perfect for a “no makeup look” 🙂 I have it in the color boss babe.
This lip balm contains coconut oil soothe your lips, and antioxidants to protect against free radicals. Even though it is tinted, it feels like a true hydrating lip balm on application and actually hydrates your lips.
sorry not sorry lipstick
I’ve never found a red lipstick that I liked before because it is either too drying, too bright, applies unevenly, or just look like they’re straight out of the 90’s. But this red {color “Rorange“} is swatched above and it’s so perfect! It’s bright and bold, but still has a lightness to it that pairs well with a natural makeup look! It applies smoothly and feels like butter.
dew me lip gloss
I can’t tell you how much I love wearing glosses like this in the summer! I think it might be because it’s made with Shea Butter and Mango Seed Butter, but it just feels sooo good (almost “juicy” feeling?!) and ZERO-stickiness. It’s the type of gloss I end up wearing when I’ve been at the pool all day and I don’t feel to do makeup. Just a high pony, statement earrings, mascara, and a swipe of this gloss for a fresh look!
