Self Tanning Routine and my go-to products!

I’m a huge fan of self-tanning. I think it’s a great way to get that “sun-kissed” look without having to expose yourself to UV rays. I’ve tried many different self-tanning products and methods over the years, and I’ve found a routine that works for me, using MineTan products!

Here’s a step-by-step guide of my routine using my go-to products from MineTan!

1. Choose the right self-tanner for your skin type.

MineTan has a Shade Finder on their website which makes it easy to determine which shade is right for you. My favorite self-tanners from them are:

1. Wonder Tan: This one is my favorite for the fall and winter because it’s so hydrating!!I t’s formulated from plant-derived hyaluronic acid and super-nourishing vitamins A, C, B3 and E, which makes your skin so soft!! It’s easy to apply, and it gives you a natural-looking tan. This self-tanning foam is honestly one of the best I’ve ever used.

2. Workout Ready Self Tan Foam: Workout Ready features a sweat-resistant formulation so you won’t have to worry about your tan coming off during your next workout. It’s quick drying and doesn’t transfer onto your clothes! It’s a super dark brown finish, I shared my results and how I use it HERE.

3. Bronze Babe Home Spray Tan Kit: (See a video tutorial HERE) I was a little bit hesitant to try this one at first because I thought it would be hard to use, but I’m really glad I did! It’s so easy to use, and it gives you a beautiful, natural-looking tan. The ultra-fine mist gives you a streak-free finish.

4. Wonder Tan Bronzing Renewal Serum: This is a new product from MineTan, and I’m really loving it! It’s a bronzing serum that also has hyaluronic acid so you can use it on your face to give you a natural-looking tan. I just incorporate it into my normal skincare routine!

5. Illuminating Glow Drops: I love adding these glow drops to my moisturizer to maintain/elongate the length of my tan!

2. Exfoliate + shave

First, make sure you exfoliate and shave your skin before applying self-tanner. This will remove any dead skills, which help the product go on evenly and prevent streaks. I like to use a loofah or body scrub in the shower, but you can also use a gentle exfoliating cleanser.

2. Moisturize

After you come out of the shower, apply moisturizer to your hands, elbows, knees, and ankles. This will help the self-tanner go on evenly and prevent it from clinging to dry patches of skin.

3. Apply with a mitt

Now you’re ready to apply the self-tanner. Don’t be scared, and just go for it! Use a mitt and apply about 2-3 pumps for each “area”: (calf, thigh, arm, stomach, back, etc.) and work your way up, blending as you go in circular motions. Once you hit all the main areas, apply what is left on the mitt to your hands and feet.

4. Use a hairdryer or fan

This is key and I don’t know why more people don’t do this! You want to make sure that the self-tanner is dry and not sticky before you get dressed. So use a hairdryer on a cool setting, or a standing fan, to speed up the drying process. After that I like to put on a loose robe and just lounge around for about 20-30 minutes until it’s totally dry. Wait a few hours before you rinse off in the shower for the best results!
