Why Retinol?

Retinol is a powerful ingredient that offers a wide range of skincare benefits (reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture and tone, clear up acne). The key to using retinol is to start slowly and gradually work your way up to higher levels. You also need to be sure to wear sunscreen during the day, as retinol can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

What is BeautyBio’s R45 The Reversal?

If you don’t know what this is, R45 The Reversal is a three-phase retinol treatment that targets skin concerns such as aging, acne, and uneven skin tone. Completing all three phases takes about 45 days and they increase in retinol strength so that you can enjoy the benefits of retinol without the harsh side effects. 

As someone who has always had a little bit of trouble with acne, and is now starting to see the signs of aging, this 45-day solution seemed like the perfect fit for me.

Phase One:

The first step on my #R45DayChallenge. For me, Phase One was all about getting my skin used to the retinol. Retinol products are hit or miss for my skin, so I was a little nervous about how my skin would react. Luckily, the gentle formula of Phase One meant that I didn’t have any irritation or peeling.

As phase one came to an end, I noticed my breakouts were beginning to clear up, and I hadn’t had any new breakouts. There were no major changes, but it was definitely the start of something.

Phase Two:

This is when you start to see results from the system. You’ll notice that the retinol cream in phase two is slightly darker in color than in phase one. This is because it contains more retinol. (the more yellow in color, the higher the retinol concentration)

I was a bit nervous about this, as my skin can be sensitive, but again, all went well. I was delighted to see that scars from breakouts were starting to lighten. I did have one small breakout in the beginning, because it was that time of the month, however, it cleared pretty quickly! My skin definitely felt smoother and looked brighter.

Phase Three:

The final phase of R45 is Phase Three: This phase is the most intense of the three, with the highest level of retinol. By this point, my skin was used to the treatment, so I didn’t have any issues with irritation or peeling. The results during this phase were the most dramatic. My skin felt amazing the entire time. My skin tone was much more even and dark spots were significantly lighter!

Overall, I am absolutely thrilled with the results of my #R45DayChallenge. I would highly recommend this system to anyone who is new to retinol and looking to improve their skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Other Things to Know

• apply this product at night before bed

• after applying R45, follow with a moisturizer that doesn’t contain retinol or any acid – I LOVE this moisturizer.
